PROVIDED EQUIPMENT

Classrooms

Classrooms contain either a projector or mobile TV, speakers, and a document camera.

Faculty and TAs

Faculty and TAs receive a laptop and charger. They may request a case if available. Users are responsible for physical damage to their laptop beyond normal wear and tear, and for loss during the school year. Laptops do not need to be returned over summer break, but users are responsible for loss and/or theft.

Office Staff

Office staff may receive a laptop or a desktop depending on their role. Users are responsible for physical damage beyond normal wear and tear as well as loss and/or theft.

Replacement

School equipment is replaced on a five-year cycle. Older equipment is rotated into secondary roles; users may expect their assigned computer to be no more than four years old.

EQUIPMENT/NETWORK USE AGREEMENT

  1. In all cases, school-provided equipment is intended to be used for school purposes. Personal use is acceptable to the extent that it does not interfere with the ability of the equipment to be used for work purposes.
  2. Take reasonable precautions against physical damage, loss, and theft.
  3. Users are responsible for physical damage, loss, and for theft occurring outside the user’s China residence or workplace.
  4. Users may not physically modify equipment.
  5. Users will not install pirated software on school equipment.
  6. Cisco AnyConnect is installed on school devices and should only be activated for school purposes.
  7.  Wi-Fi (NCPA-Offsite and NCPA-Faculty) supplied by the school is monitored. Anything posted that violates Chinese law can be traced to the individual and puts the school at risk.
